We do use cookies, tracking IDs and log files to collect user information both anonymously and individually.  The data we gather includes information that is used by academic and administrative members of staff to track the progress of individual students in line with expectations of students and the student contract, all other data however is collected anonymously.  We use anonymous data to examine the effectiveness of our service.  
 
If you post information, data or files to our websites or mobile app we will only use it for the purpose in which it was intended.  Posts to the VLE may be used for assessment and/or calculating engagement of students.  Photographs submitted are only ever used for identification purposes.  No information is passed to third parties outside of the requirements of the student or employment contract without explicit consent.

If the privacy policy changes in any way, we will place an updated version on this page.  Regularly reviewing the page ensures you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we will share it with other parties.
 

Glossary of terms

  • Cookies are files containing information about visitors to a web site which allow us to identify you as your browse through the site. This information is provided to the user during the first visit to a web server. The server records this information in a text file and stores this file on the visitor's hard drive. This is completely safe, and is used so you don't have to type your username and password on each page visit; store your preferences; and enhance the performance of our technology.
  • Tracking IDs are used similarly to cookies, but are employed by our mobile app.  The mobile app generates this ID randomly and records it in a secure area of the app.  This is completely safe, and is used so you don't have to type your username and password on each page visit; store your preferences; and enhance the performance of our technology.?
  • Log files are files created by a web server which contains all of the access information regarding the activity on that server.
